Hurricane Victims! Report Price Gouging!
You Should file a complaint with the Attorney General's office of your State of if you think you've been a victim of price gouging during a declared state of emergency. You can also report substandard repairs by companies if you think your home repair company provided uncommonly poor results in craftsmanship or materials.
It's a criminal offense in FL to price gouge during an officially declared State of Emergency. Other states are also persuing price gouging complaints. Hotels and gas stations that raise their price
If during a declared State of Emergency, prices were demonstrably higher from the time just before the State of Emergency was declared, you may have a strong case and you should immediately report your claim to the State Attorney Generals office. They will persue and prosecute if there is legitimate price gouging.
